Our People

Sarah is the founding principal of Ergon Law, having extensive experience practising as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand since 2017. Sarah has the following background and expertise to offer clients at Ergon Law:

• Native speaking fluency in Arabic.

• A Bachelor of Laws (AUT), a Masters in Theological Studies (The Australian University College of Divinity), and a Certificate in Tikanga Māori (Te Wānanga o Aotearoa).

• Generalist legal practice experience, working at both Waitemata Community Law Centre and Auckland Community Law Centre, two of the busiest community law centres in Aotearoa.

• Specialist work as a barrister at Fleming Singleton Law (f.k.a David Fleming), a leading employment law firm in Tāmaki Makarau.

• Speaking roles, including as a panellist at the NZ Christian Lawyers Conference 2025 and co-presenting at the Brightstar Employment Relations Summit 2022.

• Presentation of written and oral submissions to select committees, including the Education and Workforce Committee.

• Governance experience as a board member and secretary for Ranui Action Project 2021 - 2023, a grassroots community development organisation in Ranui suburb.

• Participation as a role model for Inspiring the Future Aotearoa 2024-2025, a school programme for sharing career pathways with students.
